American Idol Judging Nastier Than Ever?
There's "train wreck" TV and then there's good train wreck TV and American Idol is good train wreck television. As the world's most popular singing competition heads into its 6th season, I've heard many people ask, "Are the judges nastier this year than last?"Unfortunately, the answer to this question is no, they are about the same. It is we the audience who has had a respite from this acerbic repartee who have forgotten the blunt, intolerant and sometimes razor-like comments from judges like Simon Cowell who are now reintroduced to this brand of entertainment all over again with fresh eyes and ears.
The good news is that there a few contestants who are singer-songwriters who have made it through to the next round. So, hopefully this year's American Idol winner will be a singer-songwriter just like last season's winner, Taylor Hicks.
